Mo' Crafts

I’ve been a little busy bee! Last night I was looking through my computer and I found pictures of my trip to Vegas with Kaleo. While looking through them I remembered one of our nights out on the town when we went to Rain and then attempted to get into Ghost Bar, we never did get in. But I decided that I should finally be able to get the ghost so I made my own pair of ghost earrings. These earrings are made out of glow in the dark polymer clay (like the glow sticks we got at Rain). The posts aren’t sterling silver, but so far they don’t irritate my ears. Each ghost has their own expression and will be blindly boxed so you never know which facial expression you’ll get.

My little ghosts drying from putting on gloss.

On the crafty side last weekend I got to show off my wonderful peacock costume. These are the hair clips I made. I just used teal felt, some feathers, hot glue and an alligator clip. First I warmed up the glue gun (I used a low heat one because I didn’t want to risk melting anything). I cut out a piece of teal felt in a small circle (large enough to cover the clip). I began to glue the feathers in layers (back to the front of the clip), I glued the stem to the felt and made sure not to get glue on the peacock eyes. Once my layers were secured I glued a sparkly button and let it sit to make sure everything was secured before I attached the feather pad to the clip. I cut out a small rectangle and glued one side of the clip to it, so when glued to the felt it would resemble a sleeve. I attached the “sleeve” to the feather pad and there you have it, a hair clip!

Ohh here are the bacon and egg earrings I made. I almost forgot about them.
